A Theatrical First for Reading Museum
Anna Carlisle’s ground-breaking new play Joan Eardley: A Private View is now booking through Reading Arts Box Office. There will be two performances at 2.30pm and 6pm on Thursday 8 June.

Object of the Month: French Priest's Box
In the tumultuous years of the French Revolution, thousands of clergymen fled France to avoid persecution and death. Our object of the month – a fine penwork pine or plane box – was made by one such religious émigré who ended up in Reading.

Object of the Month: Belgian Refugee Plaque
November is a time of remembrance and so this month's object is a plaque presented to the people of Reading by the Belgian refugees given shelter here during the First World War.
Bee research at Reading Museum
Last week we welcomed a researcher to study bumblebees in the collection, which we hope will support legislation to help protect them - a great use of our historic insect collections!
